Kia Ora! Boy is an hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age movie talking about heroes, magic and Michael Jackson. It became a great success in New Zealand and it is now coming to America in March. Director Taika Waititi, explains that he needs as many people as possible to see the movie. So as I HEART liked it, we want to help him too ! Don’t forget about going to see « Boy » the movie, out in March the 2nd, or help them here.

A Cycle-Powered Cinema

The new project of the New Zealand collective Gap filler is a cycle-powered cinema. Starting at sundown on Thursday this week (9th Feb) they’ll be screening films on the old Cycle Trading site on Manchester St behind Pak’n'Sav Moorhouse. Local engineers have developed a system so you can ride your own bike in and hook it into the system to generate power (10 cyclists at a time) to run the projector and sound! Films run Feb 9-11 & 15-18. On opening night there will be live music by Anita & Simon from Devilish Mary & the Holy Rollers!
