Left to right: Taro, Peanut Butter and Chocolate and Toffee Pecan

Swensen’s is an old-fashioned 40′s diner. Burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, humongous salads and the whole shebang. But when you go you usually save yourself for ice cream. Tons of it. I’ve been around the world and I’ve had ice cream at pretty much every step of the way. According to my tastebuds, THIS is THE BEST ICE CREAM in the World. And BONUS, the setting and service is retro and adorable.

For an in-depth understanding of this magical ice cream. Here is how I rate ‘Excellent ice cream’.

Creaminess: 9,5/10 – Creamy but not too milky. The ice cream reaches melting point in your mouth at about 3 secs in which means you still get a bit of the chewy hardness. YUM.

Flavour: 9/10 - I went for local favourite Taro and Peanut Butter and chocolate. Explosion of deliciousness.

Variety of flavours: 7/10 – Swensen Taipei sells 20 different flavours ranging from classic Chocolate to Green Tea.

Quantity of ice cream served/price: 10/10 - See now this is where Swensen gets the most points. One scoop = 1,80 € / 1 USD = A FAT SCOOP.

Roundness of the scoop: 10/10 Perfect and old-fashioned.

But really, to hell with my descriptions, just go and indulge!
